3D Printing at Grace College: Instructions

Slicing Guidelines

  1. Log in and insert your SD card.

  2. Open Cura. Use the dropdown menu to select which printer you will use:

    1. Anycubic Vyper - blue

    2. Prusa i3 Mk3 - orange

  3. Open the blue Cura folder icon, find your file, and double click on it.

  4. When you see your object appear in the slicing software, click on it. It will be outlined in blue.

  5. If necessary, change the percentage sizes using the scale tool.

  6. Click "Slice“ then "save to removable drive.”

  7. Eject the SD card, then remove the SD card from the card reader.

  8. Check your print time.

  9. Shut down the Cura window.

Head over to the printer to print your model!

Slicing Guidelines

  1. Turn on the printer using the switch near the power cord in the back.

  2. Insert your SD card.

  3. Choose “print” on the touch screen.

  4. The files on your SD card will be displayed.

  5. Use the touch screen to select your file.

  6. Press “print.”

  7. Observe your print for a few minutes to be sure it is printing well and is adhering to the printer bed.

  8. Check on your print periodically to be sure it is running well.

  9. When your print is completed and the bed has cooled, carefully remove your print and clear any extra filament from the bed.

  10. Turn off the printer using the switch in the back then remove your SD card.

  11. Please clean up the printer, the table, and the surrounding area before you leave!

  1. Turn on the printer using the switch near the power cord in the back.

  2. Insert your SD card.

  3. When the files appear, turn the knob to find your files then push the knob in to select a file.

  4. If the files do not appear, press the control knob once, then turn to “SD card.” Press the knob to select, then select your file from there.

  5. Press the control knob at “print.”

  6. Observe your print for a few minutes to be sure it is printing well and is adhering to the printer bed.

  7. Check on your print periodically to be sure it is running well.

  8. When your print is completed and the bed has cooled, carefully remove your print and clear any extra filament from the bed.

  9. Turn off the printer using the switch in the back then remove your SD card.

  10. Please clean up the printer, the table, and the surrounding area before you leave!
