Mission: To enhance the profession of clinical mental health counseling through licensing, advocacy, education and professional development.

The American Psychiatric Association, founded in 1844, is the world’s largest psychiatric organization. It is a medical specialty society representing growing membership of more than 35,000 psychiatrists.
Its member physicians work together to ensure humane care and effective treatment for all persons with mental disorders, including intellectual disabilities and substance use disorders.

The American Psychological Association is the largest scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States. APA is the world's largest association of psychologists, with nearly 130,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants and students as its members.

CRD is part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and is a department of the University of York. They provide research-based information about the effects of health and social care interventions and undertake systematic reviews evaluating the research evidence on health and public health questions of national and international importance. The findings of our research outputs are widely disseminated and have impacted on health care policy and practice, both in the UK and internationally.

The mission of NIMH is to transform the understanding and treatment of mental illnesses through basic and clinical research, paving the way for prevention, recovery, and cure.
