Evidence-Based Practice

Evidence-based practice is “a conscientious, problem-solving approach to clinical practice that incorporates the best evidence from well-designed studies, patient values and preferences, and a clinician's expertise in making decisions about a patient's care.” (https://www.nurse.com/evidence-based-practice)

Systematic Reviews

Systematic review “is a specific methodology that aims to comprehensively identify all relevant studies on a specific topic, and to select appropriate studies based on explicit criteria. In addition, the methodological quality of the studies included is assessed by on the basis of explicit criteria, such as the presence of a pre-test or a control group. In contrast to a conventional literature review, a systematic review (SR) is transparent, verifiable, and reproducible, and, as a result, the likelihood of bias is considerably smaller.”  (https://cebma.org/faq/what-is-a-systematic-review/)

Meta-Analysis

Meta-analysis is a quantitative, formal, epidemiological study design used to systematically assess the results of previous research to derive conclusions about that body of research. Typically, but not necessarily, the study is based on randomized, controlled clinical trials. (Haidich A. B. (2010). Meta-analysis in medical researchHippokratia14(Suppl 1), 29–37.)
