This Research guide introduces library resources that are helpful for research.

Academic Search Elite

This comprehensive multidisciplinary database provides access to scholarly and popular full-text journals, magazines, and other resources.

What's the best database for my subject area?

To find a database that's best for your topic, go to Databases A–Z and use the Subjects dropdown to find recommended databases (see screenshot below):

Databases filtered by subject

Choose your subject and you will find a list of databases considered "Best Bets". They are listed alphabetically, not by priority. Under Best Bets is a list of other databases that can also be consulted.

Credo

Books and More

To narrow down your search use the ADVANCED Search and combine concepts and/or search in specific fields (i. e. subject, title, author).

Getting Started

The Morgan Library LancerQuest Search is the library's response to Google. Enter your search terms in the search box and click "Search".

Don't get overwhelmed by the large number of results. Use the limiters listed to the left of the results.

  • You can limit to peer-reviewed articles, books, newspaper articles, etc.
  • Other limiter options include: date, author, subjects, databases.

You will also want to combine terms to get focused results, i.e.

tolerant and "generation y"

pressure and "college students"

"culturally aware" and millennials

Using quotation marks around two or more words searches them as a phrase giving you better results.
